Determine Your Yoga Level

With levels for all those interested in yoga, our beginner and expert classes are designed to encourage curiosity, compassion towards ones self, and stability of body and mind.

The practice of the yoga postures (asana), breath work, relaxation, and meditation, when practiced regularly, promote a sense of balance, harmony and peacefulness.

Beginner Yoga (Level 1)

These yoga classes are designed to welcome the new student to yoga. Our yoga level 1 classes offer a slower pace and more descriptions for the postures, breathing and relaxation. Gentle on the joints, easy on flexibility, and a quiet space to de-stress or de-compress from daily life hassles.

Level 2 Yoga

At this yoga level the student may have some previous experience with yoga postures, breath and relaxation techniques.  The pace may be a bit quicker or the postures may be held longer. Breath control and some knowledge with the different postures will be helpful for this class. As in all levels of yoga one should not create pain, injury or distracting discomfort in the body. Modifications are offered at this level.

Level 3 Yoga

After a time, the yoga student may want to be in a class that is more challenging physically, intellectually and psychologically. Challenge does not mean aggressive or mean-spirited, but to investigate the farther edges of what is normal or habitual within their yoga practice. More strength and flexibility may be required, greater breath control, and the ability to set aside ego and be present with the moment-to-moment experience of the practice.  Some modifications may be offered, but generally the assumption is the student is experienced.

Mindful Awareness Meditation

Open to all levels of experience. Each class offers a different technique to discover the benefits of meditation. Both guided and experiential, we welcome yogis, meditators, and anyone interested in the benefits of mindful awareness meditation for stress reduction, relaxation, attention deficit, weight issues and for general well being.
