Essential Oils Workshop for Yoga teachers:
Methods for using essential oils within the classroom and private sessions.

Essential oils are becoming more a part of physical and emotional health than ever before in the U.S. Hospitals, health clinics, massage, Reiki, and psychotherapy are among the forms of health and wellness treatments turning to essential oils as a non-pharmaceutical tool to support health both physically and psychically.
The Yoga experience whether within a classroom or private therapy sessions is the perfect place for yoga teachers to bring the use of essential oils into the practice. Christina Hagan of Healthy Steps and Martha Catz will present this workshop together, bringing their personal expertise to the experience.
This workshop will concentrate on 4 primary concepts and practices, methods for using the essential oils, and how to chose the appropriate essential oil:
Focus: Asana using a personal choice of 1 of 3 oils
Root: Asana and Pranayama: choice of 1 of 2 oils
Metta: Meditation practice: choice of 1 of 3 oils
Forgiveness: Gentle asana movement with breath: a specific essential oil blend chosen by Christina Hagan for the practice.

Couples yoga helps partners and couples put aside differences as they work towards, supporting each other in yoga poses, breathing and even in rest pose. Find the power of the present moment and common goals to rebuild, strengthen, and fortify relationships.
As part of the Connected Warrior program all Active Duty, Veterans and their partners are free. All non-military are donation only.

Couples/Partners Yoga training: Learning to reconnect through yoga
Connected Warriors is the largest community-based volunteer organization in the United States offering free Trauma-conscious Yoga Classes to Service members, Veterans and their families.
This training will provide the skills for yoga teachers and healthcare providers with active yoga practices to bring the benefits of yoga to a well deserved population. In this training you will learn:
- The history of trauma in the military and the mission of Connected Warriors.
- A working understanding of the anatomy of trauma on the human body and brain.
- Skills to provide yoga classes to those seeking a complimentary form of healing from trauma and the issues of reconnecting with community, friends and family.
- Safe and effective sequences, language, and direction to guide clients and students through a yoga class.
Schedule for Saturday:
10:00am-12:00pm: Introduction to Connected Warrior; History of trauma in the military
1:00pm-3:00pm: Anatomy of trauma; Family, friends and support community; Introduction to the Trauma conscious yoga class

Couples Yoga training
Sunday January 10, 2015 from 10:00am-1:00pm
Learning to reconnect in a safe and friendly environment can mean the world to friends, couples, and partners after time away in active duty, or after retirement uncovers the need to re-establish personal relationships. Couples/parnters yoga invites a working relationship with each person bringing their strengths and weaknesses to the mat to create yoga poses and movement. Learning to sync breath with body movement and encouraging listening and attention skills.
Teaching couples is not at easy as it sounds. This training will teach:
- Language and directions.
- Use of the mat and props during a class.
- Breath and movement.
- Poses and sequences that couples can preform together, or assist.
