The health benefits of yoga and dance are a delightful sense of well-being to the body and mind. The benefits of a cardiovascular class paired with strength and increased range of motion invites a feeling of stress release, freedom personal expression, and JOY!
Yoga-Dance combines flowing yoga and dance with the moves of belly dancing, classical Asian Indian dance, and modern dance for a balanced mind/body experience. The focus is on movement rather than memorization; freedom to express rather than staying with in the lines.
No prior dance experience is necessary though some yoga experience is helpful. This workshop is a dynamic and challenging movement class. Xenia Preveziotis will take you through this journey with her attentive, joyous, and supportive style of teaching.
Our Early bird is $15, but ends on February 20th (reg. $20)
The 5 elements and Yoga Workshop: A balancing act
Sunday April 10, 2016 1:00-4:00pm
Within yogic philosophy the world is made up of Space/ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. But does that mean those are the elements of the world?
What this means is that all things have these properties. Some things have more earth properties such as solid, steady, dense or hard, perseverance, and responsibility. Each of the elements have physical, behavioral and emotional aspects. When in balance these elements have a positive affect on our body and mind.
This workshop will use asana, pranayama, exploration of the bandhas, and meditation to explore the balancing of our body and mind through the properties of these elements.
Register before April 1, 2016 for the early bird special pricing.
