Couples yoga is a wonderful way to share personal time with someone special. Open to all levels of experience (including no experience), this class is designed to be accessible, gentle, and fun. $10 per couple at the door.
Yoga for COPD, Asthma, and other pulmonary conditions

Working with respiratory issues within the yoga practice: COPD, Asthma and other conditions of respiration.
Respiratory disease and dysfunction is on the increase in the United States and around the globe. Exposure to airborne toxins, climate changes, lack of exercise, poor diet, smoking, diseases, and environmental factors all contribute the causes of respiratory conditions that negatively impact the lives of millions of people world-wide.
This workshop will teach:
- Basics of Respiration
- Role of the primary diaphragms in quality of life and activities of daily living
- Role of the yoga teacher in working with students with respiratory disease
- Yoga postures and sequences
- Using Pranayama, the vayus, and sound to work with respiratory conditions
- Meditation and relaxation techniques
- Contra-indications and precautions

PTSD and Trauma Healing: The Connected Warrior Project
October 3-4, 2014.
Friday 6:00-9:00pm & Saturday 12:00-5:30pm.
Judy Weaver and JJ Gormley will be leading this wonderful training. Judy Weaver the Executive Director of the Connected Warrior Project will bring her skills and wealth of knowledge to yogis, health care providers, mental health providers, and others interested in understanding the methods of yoga for working with the issues of PTSD.
JJ Gormley, yoga therapist, will begin the weekend introducing you to Yoga Therapy as a method for working with anxiety and depression. For those interested in returning on Sunday morning, October 5 from 9:00am-12:30pm, JJ will be working with 2 case studies to see the actual working of Yoga Therapy.
(We are looking for volunteers dealing with PTSD or issues of anxiety/depression associated with PTSD to be the 2 case studies. All confidentially will be honored. Please contact Martha if you would like to volunteer and experience Yoga Therapy as the client).
Cost of the Friday and Saturday training is $50. We will gladly accept any additional donations to the Connected Warrior Project at the studio during the training. The Sunday case study workshop with Q & A afterwards is an additional $30.

Restoration Yoga training: Now enrolling for December training
December 5-77, 2014 Location: Smithfield, NC studio
More than learning relaxation poses, this training is designed to teach the teacher/student how to improve range of motion, strength, and stability, and then support that development with relaxation poses.
